The Amandine Legacy 1.07b

Luis and Rowan play in the front yard before their first day of school.

Raindrop heads off to work shortly before the schoolbus arrives. I know she doesn't do anything super interesting, but I mention her in these updates here and there because I don't want to feel like I've forgotten about her. To be fair, pets in The Sims 2 can't really do much. Maybe there'd be more to show if there was another cat for her to interact with.

I hardly know what to do with Charles now that he doesn't have to supervise the kids during the day, so, digging in the garden it is.

Not you again 😠Sod off, Adonia.

Georgie and Charles had a quiet day with the entire house to themselves. Enjoy the silence while you still can! It won't be long until there's another screaming infant around.

Not long to go now!

Luis and Rowan must have had a good first day of school, because they arrived home with wide smiles. Or they're super happy to be home?

Luis: Wait, what do these letters mean? We're being graded?
*facepalm* So it turns out I forgot to assign Luis and Rowan's traits when they became toddlers, and when they became children. Remember how long it took me to check Georgie's LTW? And I only remember one or two of Charles' traits (I think he's got the Vegetarian and Vehicle Enthusiast traits?)

Anyway, Luis now also has the Vegetarian trait, but it wasn't inherited from his father, he must have developed that on his own. Rowan on the other hand, did inherit the Brave trait from his mother.
Those are some interesting traits. I'm not sure how I'll interpret them yet, but I'll try to do a better job than I have with Charles' traits.

From what I've observed of their personalities, Rowan is more loud and enthusiastic while Luis is more timid. I think it'll be easy to work their traits into that.

The evening passed with some uneventful chores. Georgie, you really don't have to do that, not in your current state. Her poor knees!

I thought Charles might want a hobby to keep himself busy, and because they have no money or space for one of those restorable junk cars, I thought he might like to grow his own vegetables. It'd also be good for him to gain Gardening talent badges because I'd like to collect the fruits and vegetables required for making drinks with the juicer from Seasons. A few of them will be useful for Generation 2's challenge of gaining lots of skill points, such as Eggplant Juice and Veggie Cocktails.

Another morning, another game of catch while waiting for the school bus to arrive.

I finally remembered to take some close-ups of the boys! It's difficult to tell from Luis' expression here, but while he mostly takes after his dad, he's got Georgie's eye shape, and I think her eyebrows too.

Rowan, on the other hand, has a lot more of Georgie's features, as I deducted from his face as a toddler. Look at those round cheeks of his, and Georgie's memorable nose. But that's definitely Charles' eyes, eyebrows and mouth.

Georgie took it easy for the final day of her pregnancy.

Though she did manage to spend some time to working on skill points for her next promotion. I think she might've gotten a promotion during that period where my screenshots weren't being saved, so I think she's currently an Obituary Writer.

I think I might've resorted to Charles catching and selling fish out of his inventory to make some extra cash while Georgie was on maternity leave. I mean, he's got the time to do it now that he doesn't have to supervise Luis and Rowan all day.

Georgie: Oh god, it's happening again.

Georgie: CHARLES! It's time!

Remember Georgie, deep breaths... Please don't be twins again!

IT'S ONLY ONE, THANK GOD.

Charles: It's only one, thank God!

Georgie: Hello? Back to me, please!

It's a baby girl! Welcome to the family, Avery!

I subtracted the 1000 simoleons for her birth, as I did with Luis and Rowan. I hope this is the last time I have to do this.

I forgot to take a close-up screenshot of Avery, but she has blonde hair (no surprise there), Charles' brown eyes, and the same skintone as Luis.

Once Charles met baby Avery and held her in his arms, he realised that the life he wanted to give her was not the life they had now. In his wedding vows, he said he'd do whatever it takes to support his family. There had to be something more he could do.

Charles: Can't hurt to give it a try...

Charles: Woah!

He made two wishes, asking for simoleons both times. (I should have spaced them out so that he'd get the full amount of simoleons from the first wish over the day, then made another wish, and he would have gotten more simoleons overall. Oops.)

To be clear, I knew what I was doing in the previous part of this update. I didn't have Charles or Georgie wish for simoleons then because their Aspiration levels were too low, and I was worried they'd be hit on the head by the simoleon sack and killed. That is a thing, right? I waited until Avery's birth so that they'd both be in Platinum aspiration, just in case.

I also got Charles to make the wish, so that it'd contribute to his Earn §100,000 LTW. I haven't forgotten about his LTW, despite how he's not allowed to have a job. I think I'll let him get a job once Generation 2 takes over, though he'll be an elder by then.

I left another wish in the bank, just in case they need money again in the future.

As you can see, I didn't wait long before spending their new cash.

Charles got some smaller bonus bags of cash over the rest of the day.

Georgie and Charles immediately wanted to celebrate their new fortune...

*snort* But of course, they were rudely interrupted by their newborn.

Avery's first bath! Also, this gives us a good opportunity to show off their new kitchen:

I had to gut the entire kitchen for it to look any good. I really, really tried to make that purple tile work, but it had to go. I had wanted the kitchen to have a purple colour scheme, because as I explained in the first update, the first generation's colour scheme is inspired by the purple properties on a traditional Monopoly board.
But again, as I said in that update, I'm young enough to have only ever known them as brown properties, so I'm treating brown as the secondary colour scheme for this generation. Also, it makes sense for the kitchen and other living spaces to be a more neutral colour, now that Generation 2 is here.

They even had enough simoleons to splurge on a hot chocolate maker! But that'll have to wait until summer's over to get some use. Oh, and as you can see on the left, I've finally added a staircase so they can use the second floor. Luis and Rowan have already moved to a bedroom upstairs.

I also decided to move Raindrop's food bowl inside, after the incident with Adonia.

Dammit! I forgot this would happen.

Really? I didn't even get the chance to show off the loungeroom, and you're already stealing their brand-new couch.
Psst, Charles, wake up. Do something!

Charles: I'm up, I'm up.

Charles: *yawn* What's going on?

Charles: Fuck.

Charles, thinking: Maybe if I stay still, she won't see me.

Burglar, thinking: Loser.

Hey, where are you going? The lot portals are in the other direction, dumbass.

NO!

You put that back right now! That was meant to be a family heirloom :(

The useless cops finally decided to show up...

Officer Curry: Huh? Where'd they go?

Sigh. As the burglar runs down the road (couch, stovehood and wedding arch in hand), leaves on the neighbourhood trees started to turn brown and fall to the ground. Autumn has finally arrived, which marks the end of this update.
This will be the last Amandine Legacy update for the year. We don't really do seasonal celebrations in my family so I never know what to say come end-of-year-seasonal-celebration time, but I wish you all well, for the rest of this year and beyond.
The Amandine Legacy will continue in 2022. I'll add a link to the next update here: The Amandine Legacy 1.08 Thank you so much for reading, liking, sharing, commenting on, and enjoying this little passion project of mine.
